One of many apps that mash together all of your social networking updates into one, Yoono Desktop stands out in a few important ways. It doesn't require any other installation (such as Adobe Air) before it can be downloaded and run--it works on its own. Another big advantage Yoono has is that it's not just the union of Twitter and Facebook, but also includes support for MySpace, LinkedIn, Friendfeed, Flickr, and a whole host of instant messaging clients.

If you've got a good reason to have an account at a lot of places, and want to look at them all easily, Yoono is the way to go.

Download and installation are simple, and each addition of social media requires only a couple of clicks and your login and password information. It makes sense to add as many accounts as you have all at once, because the convenience of Yoono is using a single app for everything.

It has the ability to have multiple accounts running from a single social network. This is useful if you manage more than one account--for instance, a personal account and one or more for your business. These accounts appear as icons at the far end of the list. It also include multi-column support. What that means is, you can view different networks side by side on the same screen.

Yoono is a nice choice for the pure social network breadth it contains. Seesmic, for one, works only with Facebook and Twitter and nothing else. If you've got a good reason to have an account at a lot of places, and want to look at them all easily, Yoono is the way to go. Since LinkedIn support is rare, it's particularly handy to have that integration. Betweens this array of networks and the new multi-column support, Yoono has become our new multi social networking application of choice.
