Acer Launches New Gateway Laptops, Netbook in India

Gateway, (which was acquired by Acer) has introduced a new series of notebooks and netbooks, especially targeted at Indian market. The notebooks launched are NV49, NV59 and ID59, while the netbook launched is LT21.

Gateway LT21 netbook

The netbook has 10.1 inch display and is powered with Intel Atom processor N450. It has 2GB of DDR2 667 MHz memory. The storage available in this netbook is 320 GB HDD. It runs on Windows 7 Starter edition and comes with one year warranty. It has battery life of more than six hours. Gateway has priced the LT21 netbook at Rs. 22,154 and is available in two colours –Nightsky Black and Cherry Red.

Gateway NV Series – NV49 and NV59

The Gateway NV49 features a display of 14 inch, while NV59 is 15.6 inch. Both the Notebooks have an aspect ratio of 16:9. They are powered with Intel Core i3-350M and has 3 GB of DDR3 system memory, which is upgradable to 8 GB. The Gateway NV49 Series has Intel HD Graphics9 and the NV59 Series has ATI Mobility Radeon HD 54706 with up to 35797 MB of HyperMemory. Both the netbook have 320 GB of HDD and runs on Windows 7 Home edition. The Gateway NV49 is available at the price of Rs. 37,799, while the Gateway NV59 is priced at Rs. 39,374.

The Gateway NV59 Series is also available at a higher configuration. The higher version is powered by Intel Core i5-450M processor, has 4 GB of DDR3 1066 MHz memory and uses NVIDIA GeForce 320M6 with up to 40917 MB of TurboCache. In terms of storage it has 500 GB HDD. This high end version of Gateway NV59 Series is priced at Rs. 48,299.

The Gateway ID59 Series

The Gateway ID59 Series is thin and light and is better suited for home entertainment. Even this uses the Intel Core i5-450M processor and has 4 GB of DDR3 1066 MHz memory, which is upgradeable to 8 GB. In terms of graphics it uses NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M6 with NVIDIA Optimus technology, and up to 40917 MB of TurboCache. The Gateway ID59 Series runs on Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. All the notebooks have 8X DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive.
