Android Gingerbread 2.3 may kickstart Web 2.0 Summit
15 Nov 2010
There are indications that Android 2.3 Gingerbread will be unveiled by Google at today's Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, California. After Google revealed an Android Gingerbread man at its HQ campus late last month, the stage seems finally set for Google to officially announce Android Gingerbread 2.3 -- an eagerly awaited iteration of Android for smartphones and tablets.
Eric Schmidt, Google's CEO, is expected to kick-off Web 2.0 Summit with a speech -- A Conversation With Eric Schmidt. Google Mobile's tell-tale tweet on Saturday dropped a big hint about Android Gingerbread 2.3's imminent launch -- with a plateful of Gingerbread cookies.

Little official detail is known of Android Gingerbread 2.3's specs, most of what we know is speculation. Although, it is an open secret that Android 2.3 Gingerbread will concentrate largely on gaming and social media integration. Also expect a slew of Android tablet announcements once Google officially unveiled Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Facebook's email service announcement is also expected at Web 2.0 Summit.
