Apple Updates iWork Suite
31 May 2011
Apple has introduced its iWork apps Suite to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iWork apps suite, which includes Numbers (spreadsheet app), Pages (word processor app), and Keynote (presentation app), was previously available only on the iPad and iPad 2.
The apps can import and export documents from Mac and Microsoft Office applications, and these can then be printed wirelessly via the iOS app AirPrint. The apps suite now also includes improved document management tools that let users organize files into folders, and lets users see thumbnail previews of documents.
Apple sells the individual applications through the Mac App Store, and in the iOS App Store, allowing users get a single program without having to buy the others. Each of its three applications costs $9.99 (~ Rs. 450), and this latest update is available to existing iWork or iPad customers for free. The software will run on devices powered by iOS 4, including the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, and third- and fourth-generation iPod Touch devices.
