Blackberry Bold 9780 smartphone: Specs, Price

Meet the Blackberry Bold 9780, RIM's latest smartphone after releasing the Blackberry Style 9670 last week in the U.S. The new Blackberry Bold 9780 will feature the Blackberry 6 OS, apart from other improvements over the Blackberry Bold 9700 phone.

Specs and Features: Blackberry Bold 9780
The Blackberry Bold 9780 has a 2.4-inch display screen with a 400x360 resolution. The Bold 9780 also has a standard QWERTY keyboard with an optical trackpad, much like the previous Blackberry Bold 9700 smartphone. The Blackberry Bold 9780 also features a built-in 5MP camera with auto-focus, flash and image stabilization options -- there's also 2x digital zoom on the Bold 9780.

The Blackberry Bold 9780 has a 624-MHz processor and features support for 3G, Wi-Fi, built-in GPS and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. The Blackberry Bold comes with 512MB of internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB.

The brand new Blackberry 6 OS -- featured on the Blackberry Torch 9800 and Blackberry Style 9670 -- also finds its way on the Blackberry Bold 9780. The new Blackberry 6 OS features feeds for social-networking sites like Facebook, Twitter. The Blackberry Bold 9780 supports Blackberry Messenger, too.

The Blackberry Bold 9780 goes on sale in the U.S. on T-Mobile for a price of $129.99 on November 17, with a two-year contract and $50 rebate.
