The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7-inch Android tablet was unveiled in India on Friday. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is priced at Rs. 38,000 in India, and the second major tablet announced in the country after the 5-inch Dell Streak. The Samsung Galaxy Tab has emerged as a noteworthy competitor to the Apple iPad, still awaiting its official launch in India.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab -- although smaller than the 10-inch iPad -- has some impressive features. The Samsung Galaxy Tab has a front-facing and rear-facing camera, it is lighter and smaller than the iPad; the Samsung Galaxy Tab runs on Android 2.2 Froyo OS, supports Adobe Flash in browser, and has expandable memory up to 32GB. Samsung Galaxy Tab's Readers Hub will allow you to read 55 Indian newspapers in various languages. The Galaxy Tab will also have support for MapMyIndia navigation for free as an introductory offer.
Although the Samsung Galaxy Tab is more expensive than what we thought, the Samsung Galaxy Tab fulfills our wishlist in terms of telecom operators tie-up. Samsung confirmed that Airtel, Vodafone, Aircel, Tata Docomo and Reliance Communications will launch "exciting" data plans and offers when the Samsung Galaxy Tab goes on sale starting November 10 for a price of Rs. 38,000.
