Download NASA's new game Moonbase Alpha on Steam for free
29 Aug 2010
Only NASA could make a game called Moonbase Alpha that actually is what it sounds like. The new edutainment title puts players in the role of astronauts on the moon in the very near future, where stuff apparently breaks regularly.
It is a 3D immersive exploration game by NASA. In either singleplayer or multiplayer mode, participants have to fix critical systems and restart oxygen flow to a moon base after a meteor strike cripples a solar array and the life support equipment on the base. If the game were made by anybody other than NASA, there'd also be some alien virus to deal with.
You can download Moonbase Alpha over the Steam distribution network - creating an account, and downloading NASA Moonbase Alpha are both free. Steam will also supply NASA's new game with leaderboards and stat tracking. Find out more about the game here and get to the download link from NASA website or by clicking on the link in this sentence.
