Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, has launched two new graphics cards to compete in the entry-level space. These are cards based on the NVIDIA GeForce 210 and GT220 graphics acceleration chips, fabricated at 40nm. The model numbers of the products launched are the GV-N210OC-512I (based on GeForce 210 with 512MB of video memory) and GV-N220OC-1GI (based on GeForce GT220 with 1GB of video memory).

As with all current NVIDIA cards, they support Windows 7’s GPU computing capability, DirectX 10, CUDA, and PhysX technologies. They are also claimed to offer a better gaming experience with their settings for overclocking. The GT220 graphics card is claimed to use Gigabyte’s Ultra Durable 2 (UD2) boards which could help with better cooling and lower power loss to provide longer product life. Also, the GT220 card has a core clock speed of 720 MHz which is slightly higher than the reference design. Both the graphic cards offer HDMI support with a gold-plated connector for better signal transfer.
