GlacialPower launches 950W PSU
16 Sep 2009
GlacialTech has announced that GlacialPower is launching a new model of high-power and high-energy-efficiency power supply unit. The 950 Watt model in the AX series is named GP-AX950A, has a standard-sized PSU enclosure, and is "80 Plus Silver" certified (meaning efficiency of 80% or more). It is primarily meant for enthusiasts who use their desktop PCs for gaming.
According to a release, the GP-AX950A includes active PFC (power factor correction), so that components get correct power as per their requirement. The company claims that the GP-AX950A efficiently meets the requirement of high-end and precision power supply, and that the temperature remains under 50°C even while providing power at full throttle. Thus the PC can remain fairly cool and generate less noise. The inbuilt 14cm fan’s speed is controlled to extend its life span, thus it doesn't have to work overtime and if there is any delay, it will promptly shut off power. This PSU is also said to use Japanese electronic capacitors to offer longer life and reliability. It features two +12V rails and +5Vsb capability. The PSU is compatible with the latest Intel and AMD CPUs. This unit comes with a 2 year warranty.
