For those of you who are wondering why Google has just launched one phone, the Nexus One, and then decided to stop selling it suddenly. Well, there are many reasons for it. One of the main purpose of Google of launching and selling Nexus One through web was to promote the web store, so that people will start buying phones there. Google has now taken one more step in that direction by launching the Google Phone Gallery.

Google Phone Gallery will have a list of all (almost) the android phones (phones running on android operating system) available in market along with their specifications. It will also have a phone gallery and a compare button to help buyers decide which android phone to buy. The Google Phone Gallery also has a dropdown to select around 15 countries and see which phone is available with which operator. The operator logo takes you directly to their website where you can buy the phone.

"Here at Google, we're thrilled with the global adoption of Android and with the high quality of devices that are coming to market around the world. Since there are so many great phones, we wanted to make the selection process a little easier for people who are in the market for a new one. Google Phone Gallery [is] a showcase of Android-powered devices that deliver the best Google experience today," says Google's Ben Serridge.

Google says that all phones are not added to the list as of now and more phones are being added. Chances of more countries being added also seem likely. We hope India also gets added in the country list soon. But as India does not have carrier contract system like in other countries, so just a basic list of which phones are available in the country would be sufficient.
