Idea Launches Two Low-cost Android 3G Smartphones

Jumping the bandwagon of providing low-cost Android-based smartphones/tablets is Idea cellular. The telecom major recently announced two 3G enabled smartphones, Blade and id280, to boost the use of third-generation mobile network data in India’s price-sensitive market.
The id280 smartphone is manufactured by Huawei and it has a price tag of Rs. 5,850. It has a 2.8-inch capacitive screen with 320 x 240 pixel resolution, 528MHz processor and 256 MB RAM. On the other hand, the Blade is just rebranded Dell XCD35. This phone will retail for Rs 7,992, has a 3.5-inch screen and a 3.2MP camera. The binding factor for these phones is that both will run Android 2.2 (Froyo).
Idea is offering 1GB 3G data, mobile TV subscription and Rs. 25 worth of talktime free for 3 months.
