New IdeaPad Y and Z Series of Laptops
Although Lenovo had its entire consumer range of personal computers on display, we were excited by Lenovo's introduction of the new Ideapad Z and Y series of laptops. Lenovo launched two Ideapad Y series laptops: the Ideapad Y460 and Ideapad Y560, the former sporting a 14-inch screen and the later having a 15-inch screen. Compared to the 15-inch Lenovo Ideapad Y550, the new Y series laptops showed embossed screen lid with new patterns and designs. Both the laptops have new Intel Core i5-430 processors, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB hard drive, and dedicated Nvidia GeForce graphics card. The keyboard on the new Ideapad Y460 and Ideapad Y560 is the same as we saw on the Lenovo Ideapad Y550, and it has nice aesthetics, good onboard JBL speakers.
On the other hand, new additions were made to Lenovo's Ideapad family of laptops, the new Lenovo Ideapad Z series laptops -- the Ideapad Z460 and Ideapad Z560. Lenovo claims to offer rich entertainment options at an affordable price options with its Ideapad series of laptops, and that trend seems to continue with the new Ideapad Z460 and Ideapad Z560 laptops, respectively. The Z460 has a 14-inch form factor while the Z560 comes with a 15-inch form factor, and both the laptops run on Intel's Core i3-350M processor. Both the Ideapad Z series laptops have a brushed metal exterior and sport isolated, chiclet-styled keys on their keyboard, and they look very similar to the HP Pavilion dm3 laptop but sell at a very low price point. The Lenovo Ideapad Z series of consumer laptops come with HDMI, eSATA ports, OneKey Theater for enhanced movie experience and Lenovo Veriface face recognition. Both the laptops offer hi-performance, Lenovo claims.

We have already reviewed the Lenovo Ideapad S10-3 10-inch netbook, but Lenovo has refreshed it with better looking screen lid covers and branded it as the new Ideapad S10-3s netbook. Both the netbooks sport the all new Intel Atom N475 1.83-GHz processor. The netbook weighs about 1.1-kg and is just an inch thick, and offers two new distinct design options -- Ideapad S10-3s Moon (Purple night shade) and Ideapad S10-3s Wind (Pink floral design). Other interesting on the new Ideapad S10-3s netbooks include Dolby headphone technology, ergonomic full-sized keyboard, Lenovo Veriface technology, OneKey recovery, and QuickStart. The netbooks should retail for around Rs. 20,000, but there was no official comment from Lenovo on pricing of the new S10-3s netbooks.

Apart from the existing Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 13-inch, Lenovo also expanded the Thinkpad Edge offering with a 14-inch and 15-inch Thinkpad Edge thin and light laptop.
