07 Sep 2010
LG has announced the launch of its second Android phone in the Indian market- the LG Optimus (GT540) that runs on Android version 1.6 (upgradeable to the 2.1 version).
The LG Optimus has a 3.0-inch resistive touchscreen with a resolution of 320x480 and 65K color output. It also has a 3MP camera with no flash but with auto-focus. It supports Wi-Fi, 3G and GPS, although it comes only with Google Maps and therefore you will need a third-party app for voice navigation in India.
The Optimus has 130MB of internal storage expandable up to 32GB using microSD cards. Other features include Google Mobile Services such as dedicated apps for Gmail, YouTube and GTalk among others. The device is also able to play DivX/XviD video files out of the box, and also comes with social networking apps for Facebook, Twitter and Bebo.
The LG Optimus is priced at Rs. 12,990 and is available in Indian stores right now. For more details visit the LG Optimus’ micro-site.
