Motorola has launched Motorola Milestone XT720 and Motorola Backflip in India. The Motorola XT720 is called as one of the most stylish android phones by experts. It has 8 megapixel camera with Xenon Flash. The Motorola Backflip has a Backtrack feature which allows users to use a touch panel located behind the home screen. Both these phones run on Android operating system and are touchscreen. Let us take a closer look at the specifications of these phones.

Motorola Backflip

The Motorola Backflip runs on Android 1.5 operating system, which is quite disappointing in a way, as the world has now moved beyond Android 2.1 platform. The biggest differentiating factor in this phone is a feature which allows to reverse-flip QWERTY keyboard and the 3.1-inch screen. It also uses the Backtrack which is a touch panel located on the other side of the device. Apart from these features it also has a 5 megapixel camera and autofocus LED flash. It runs on the 7200A chipset and has talktime of 6 hours.

The Motorola Backflip has internal memory of 2G which can be extended up to 32GB with the help of external memory. It supports 3G and GSM network and supports HSDPA, EDGE and GPRS for internet.

Motorola Milestone XT720

Motorola claims in its press release that this is the slimmest 8 Megapixel Android smartphone so far. The Motorola Milestone XT720 has 3.7-inch capacitive touch screen, which has a 480 x 854 pixel resolution. The 8 Megapixel camera is definitely an attractive feature. On top of that, the phone also supports 720p HD recording and up to 10x digital zoom. For storage, Motorola has provided 8GB microSD card and the slot can be extended up to 32GB. One feature offered in this phone which we found interesting is that the phone allows users to see the HD video captured on the Motorola Milestone XT720 to be viewed directly on an HDTV.

“We are taking the Android experience to a whole new level in India with the launch of our two smartphones Motorola Milestone XT720 and Backflip,” said Andrew Morley, Vice President for Marketing, EMARA (Europe, Middle East, Africa, Russia & Asia), Motorola Mobile Devices. Motorola has made an effort to reach to the Indian audience by offering with lifetime free access to fully voice-guided street-level navigable MapmyIndia maps of 401 cities in India. The GPS navigation service is also free for both the Motorola Milestone XT720 and Motorola Backflip users.

The Motorola Milestone XT720 is priced at Rs. 34,990, while the Motorola Backflip is priced at Rs. 22,990. The pricing of the phone seems reasonable since Motorola Milestone XT720 is very much like Motorola Droid X.
