Motorola Milestone XT720: Most Stylish Android?
13 Jun 2010
Just days after launching the Motorola Flipout, Motorola had announced the launch of Motorola Milestone XT720. Just one look at the specifications of the phone was enough to convince us that this is beyond a doubt one of the best Android phone launched by Motorola.
Just in case if you missed out checking on this phone, here is a quick flashback on the specifications. Motorola claims in its press release that this is the slimmest 8 Megapixel Android smartphone so far. The phone runs on XT720 runs on Android 2.1 operating system. Unofficial reports suggest the Motorola Milestone XT720 runs on a 550MHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU and 256MB of RAM, same as Motorola Droid, (#2 on our list of Top 5 High-End Smartphones).
Motorola Milestone XT720 has 3.7-inch capacitive touch screen, which has a 480 x 854 pixel resolution. The 8 Megapixel camera is definitely an attractive feature. On top of that the phone also supports 720p HD recording and up to 10x digital zoom. In terms of display, the Motorola Milestone XT720 has 3.7 inch, WVGA (480X854) display. For storage Motorola has provided 8GB microSD card and the slot can be extended up to 32GB.
Motorola Milestone XT720 runs benefits from all the usual Android features such as suite of Google mobile applications including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube, and Android market place. One feature offered in this phone which we found interesting is that the phone allows users to see the HD video captured on the MILESTONE XT720 to be viewed directly on an HDTV.
The Motorola Milestone XT720 has support for Wi-Fi 802.11b or g, but surprisingly lacks support for the faster 802.11n, which is becoming more common on high-end smartphones. Users can surf internet on this phone using HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access), downloading data at up to 7.2M bps (bits per second) and uploading it at up to 5.76M bps.
A Motorola spokeswoman has confirmed that the phone will start shipping in the second quarter. We would let you know about its release in India as well as price soon.
