13 Jan 2010
Netgear has launched the WNR1000 Wireless Router which is compatible with Wireless-N. This allows for better coverage/range, signal quality, and network speed than older Wireless-G routers. This performance boost can be seen especially when used in conjunction with Wireless-N devices.Netgear claims this device is secure, saves energy, and is "plug-n-play" such that no further intervention is required once it is configured. Its "Smart Wizard" is claimed to help in automatic detection and configuration of the router for most ISP (Internet uplink) connections. The included WPS feature that Netgear has labelled "Push ‘N’ Connect" can securely connect devices at the push of a button. Netgear says that its powerful internal antennae can help users surf the web, email, stream music, play on-line games, and make Internet phone calls.
Atul Jain, Country Manager (India & SAARC), Netgear Technologies India said, “Netgear WNR1000 RangeMax 150 Wireless Router is the latest router in the Netgear stable with multiple advantages for the users. Today, the consumer market – especially home and SoHo is rising tremendously. They need high-end products for their applications as they contribute substantially to the economy of the country. A home or SoHo company like a travel agent, lawyer, design consultant, architect, etc. need high speed broad band as much as a large enterprise requires.
The router is backed by a two-year warranty and 24/7 technical support. Netgear also has a higher-end router with a lot more features, the WNDR3700 reviewed here.
