New Apple Mac Pro line-up to Hit Stores August
28 Jul 2010
Apple just revealed the new Mac Pro line-up which Apple claimed as the most powerful and configurable Mac they’ve ever made. The new line-up featured the latest quad-core and 6-core Intel Xeon processors, the new ATI graphics and support for up to four 512GB SSD. With all these new features, Apples aims to meet the requirements of most demanding consumers and professionals. Every Mac also comes with Mac OS® X Snow Leopard and iLife for managing photos, making movies and creating and learning to play music.
Under its hood, the new Mac Pro has the next-gen quad-core and 6-core Intel Xeon processors clocking at 3.33GHz. A single die design is implemented by these multi-core processors which enables each core to share up to 12MB L3 cache for optimal performance and efficiency. It also has an integrated memory controller for faster bandwidth and minimal latency. The Turbo boost feature is the key here- it dynamically boost the processor speed up to 3.6 GHz to create up to 24 virtual cores. Graphics is handled by the ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics processor with 1GB memory and for more demanding users, Apple gives a choice for ATI Radeon HD 5870 as well. The  new Mac Pro supports up to four 512GB SSD drives and also two Mini DisplayPorts and one dual-link DVI port.
The new Mac Pro comes with Magic Mouse and customers can also order the new Magic Trackpad. The Magic Trackpad has a customizable option for users to use it as either single or two button commands and it has tap-to-click feature apart from the standard physical click. It is available for Rs. 3,070.
