Iomega has announced the launch of an expanded family of their ScreenPlay HD Media Player products. The new Iomega ScreenPlay HD Media Player products launched, are the ScreenPlay Director, ScreenPlay Plus, and ScreenPlay TV Link - all at differing feature and price points. They are on display at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. At the top of the line is the Iomega ScreenPlay Director HD Media Player, which is feature-rich, offers 3 USB ports, 1TB of storage space, and wired/wireless network connectivity. The "Director" makes it easy to browse your home network for digital content such as videos, photos and music to watch on the TV.

A feature available for US consumers only, it also incorporates the Roxio CinemaNow entertainment platform, providing instant access to buy or rent movies and other premium entertainment from the Internet to view on TV. It creates a convenient link between the home network and the home theater, giving users an easy way to enjoy their digital content from the best seat in the house. Users simply store content on the ScreenPlay’s hard drive and then use an intuitive remote to play the content on their large screen TV.

All three players have a 3-year warranty and are expected to go on sale in the US later this month, at prices of US$ 249, 169, and 129 respectively. Iomega bundles its "Protection Suite" software free with two of these players.
