Nokia's Make My App Contest for Ovi Store

With the Nokia N8 launch fast approaching, the Finnish phone giant announced its "Make My App" contest in India. The Nokia app contest invites phone users to send in fresh ideas for mobile apps to feature in Nokia's Ovi Store.

Interested participants are expected to submit their mobile app ideas under the following four categories: Think Green, Fun and Games, Easier Living and Better World.

And Nokia has a surprising gift for the Make My App contest winners. Nokia said that the top three mobile apps ideas featured in the contest will all win a Nokia N8 smartphone. That's not all, winning entries will ultimately feature on Nokia's Ovi Store -- once they are developed and available as downloadable mobile apps. Professional developers will work on winning Make My App ideas to put them on the Ovi Store.

If you want to enter, the Nokia Make My App contest is open till 19 September. Nokia will then allow online public voting on the Make My App contest entries. Every week, ten of the most popular ideas will be shortlisted to the final round. Eventually, the three top ideas (who will win a Nokia N8 smartphone) will be chosen by a panel of judges.
