Opera Mini Clocks 1 Billion Page Views Per Day

Opera Software has announced that its Opera Mini browser has reached one billion page views per day milestone. In past few weeks Opera has been busy launching Opera Mini browser for different operating systems. These launches include Opera Mobile beta 10.1 for Symbian Series 60 phones, Opera Mini 5.1 for Android phones, and Opera beta 10.1 for Maemo mobile phones. With the help of these new version for different handsets, Opera is hoping that the number will increase even further, says Jon von Tetzchner, Co-Founder of Opera.
Opera claims that Opera Mini now compresses 11,500 pages each second. Tetzchner says that the time when new versions were launched for Symbian, Android and Maemo, the average pages served were 910 million pages.
Commenting on the achievement Tetzchner said “This proves people want the best experience possible, proving that Opera delivers on the vision of creating the best Internet experience on any device.”
