Panasonic unleashes LX5, FZ100, FZ45, FX700 and TS10 Cameras

Panasonic has launched the all new five LUMIX cameras. Catering both casual users and semi pro shooters, the new line-up has everything from advanced compact to super-zoom cameras. These new models LX5, FZ40, FZ100, FX700 and TS10 are hitting the shelves soon.
DMC-LX5
According to the press release, the DMC LX5, a successor to the previous high-end LX3, sports new High Sensitivity CCD and F2.0 ultra wide angle 24mm LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens. The optical zoom is also increased from 3.8x to 5x. It has the new and redesigned image processing engine called the Venus Engine FHD. Panasonic claimed the new imaging engine improved image quality in low light conditions.

It has a 10.1MP CCD sensor, HD movie recording in AVCHD lite apart from MJPEG format. It also sports a 3-inch LCD screen with 460,000 dots resolution. The battery life is rated at 400 shots per charge.
DMC-FZ100
The new FZ100 is a hybrid digital compact camera and it can record full HD video and it sports the newly developed LEICA DC VARIO-ELMART lens which has 25mm-600mm focal lenght. Panasonic has really moved up the optical zoom capability from its standard 18x on earlier FX series like the FZ35/28 to 24x on this model.

The new sensor packs 14.1MP and it is MOS sensor which also records 1920 x 1080 full HD movie. This new sensor can also record images at 60fps in 3.5MP recording mode and high speed QVGA video at 220fps. It also uses the Venus Engine FHD images processing engine. The camera has a 3-inch LCD screen as well.
It has manual controls for more advanced control and there is a Focus switch and jog dial on the camera for better controls. There is also a new Motion Deblur mode.
DMC-FZ45/40
This feature-packed hybrid digital camera sports a 24x optical zoom lens which has focal lenght of 25mm to 600m. It has a 14.1MP sensor,new image processing engine called the Venus Engine HD II to capture better quality images and HD ( but only 720p) movie. It incorporates the new Power O.I.S to reduce hand-shake effect while shooting images. It also comes with manual controls and to enhance this feature, Panasonic included Jog dial and Focus button. The camera has the same 3-inch LCD screen like the FZ100.
DMC -FX700
This new FX camera can record full HD (1920 x 1080) movie and it sports a 14.1MP sensor. It has a 24mm wide angle lens with 5x optical zoom.
It shares the same MOS sensor like the FZ100 which enables it to shoot at high speed. It sports a 3-inch LCD touchscreen to control the camera and playback captured images.
DMC-TS10 (FT10)
The last one on the new line-up is the Lumix DMC-TS10(TF10) is a stylish flat rugged compact camera. It has a folding optics which is a 4x optical zoom lens and a 14.1MP sensor. The camera is water-proof up to 3meters , shockproof to 1.5m, freezeproof to -10 degrees C and dustproof. Apart from that it can record 720p HD video and it has a 2.7-inch LCD screen.

The LX5, FZ100, FZ45/40 and FX700 is slated to hit the market next month, while the TX10 will hit the shelve this September in US. We hope Panasonic will also bring them to Indian market soon.
