Simmtronics Semiconductors, a motherboard and VGA card manufacturer has launched a new range of motherboards. Based on Intel's G31 chipset, the SIMM-INT G-31 motherboard has an LGA775 socket and thus supports a wide range of Intel's processors. On the list of supported processor lines are the Intel Core 2 Quad, Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel® Pentium D, Intel Pentium 4 and the Intel Celeron D Processors. The newer processors (Core i3/i5/i7) are not supported, but even though it is based on an older generation chipset, Simmtronics claims it is equipped with all the features a budget consumer would need for a better computing experience. It is available in channels and is priced at Rs. 2,500.

“By launching the new version of Motherboard SIMM INT G-31, we are fulfilling our commitment to provide the latest mainstream motherboards with high quality graphics and resolution to end consumers,” commented Mr. Indrajit Sabharwal, Managing Director of Simmtronics Semiconductors Ltd.

SIMM-INT G-31 with Intel G31/ICH7 chipset can be combined with the Intel "Core 2" family of processors. It has two 240-pin DDR2 DIMM sockets for RAM, with 800/667 MHz speeds. Up to 4GB of memory is supported. It comes with 8 channel HD Audio, PS2 mouse port, PS2 keyboard port, serial port, 4 USB ports, VGA port (for monitor) and multiple stereo input port. Simmtronics' press release says that special features like the Intel® GMA 3100 on-board graphics, 8-channel sound and Realtek RTL8100C LAN (10/100 MBps) make the board exceptional. It has PCI and PCI-E slots, and supports FSB speeds of 333/1066/800/533 MHz for LGA775 Socket processors.
