Steve Ballmer: Microsoft Windows 8 Will Release in 2012

All those rumors that were floating on the internet about Windows 8 has been put to rest by Microsoft chief Steve Ballmer who confirmed that Windows 8, the next iteration of Microsoft's Windows operating system, will release in 2012.
Speaking to developers at Microsoft Developer Forum in Tokyo, Ballmer said, "As we progress through the year, you ought to expect to hear a lot about Windows 8. Windows 8 slates, tablets, PCs, a variety of different form factors." He confirmed that would be Windows 8 available for PCs, tablets and system on a chip (SoC) devices.
Ballmer, however, didn't divulge any more details regarding the new features that Windows 8 will bring for end users.
