Virgin Mobile Customers Get Free GetJar Games

Virgin Mobile has entered a tie up to provide its customer free access to over 70,000 games from GetJar. GetJar provides mobile games which can run on major mobile platforms like Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Java and Symbian phones. Virgin Mobile says that the service will be available in 16 circles such including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, Kerala, Orissa, Mumbai and Maharashtra, Kolkata, West Bengal, Haryana, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, UP East and West.
Apart from games, Virgin Mobile will also have access to other applications in other section such as education, entertainment, finance, food, health, search, lifestyle and utility. Virgin Mobile customers looking for social networking application and internet can now download Facebook Mobile, Yahoo!, Nimbuzz, Opera Mini Browser, eBuddy. GetJar claims that on an average they get three million download per day globally and the applications increase by hundreds per week.
“App Catalogue Express is a white label solution designed to make it quick and easy for carriers, aggregators and partners to seamlessly launch a pre-populated app store across all major platforms and devices,” said Ilja Laurs, founder and CEO, GetJar.
M.A. Madhusudan, Chief Executive Officer, Virgin Mobile India says this move will further strengthen their strategy to engage with young customers. Virgin Mobile customers can get these application for free but data browsing charges of 1p/kb will be charged on access. To access these free applications customers need to access Virgin Mobile India’s WAP portal.
