Creative Muvo T200

Full Review
The Creative Muvo T200 isn’t all gloss and no substance. Look behind the piano black finish of this lightweight (20.6 g) sleek device and you have a nifty device that holds up to 500 songs, depending on the bitrate of your songs. We loved the pen-drive like design which came USB-ready which is a unique feature that the other players lack. It plays MP3 and WMA but not AAC files.
There is an FM radio with 32 preset stations and a voice recorder via its built-in microphone. Presence of an external display aid in navigating the menu and its navigational pad is similar to the Zen Stone Plus. With two keys on the side, the Play/Pause/Record key and a customizable shortcut key, the button placement is convenient and scores high on ergonomics. Its interface is responsive with a simple menu navigation system.

We found the bundled headphones accentuated only the middle frequencies leaving the rest behind. With better headphones, the MuvoT200 still lacked deep lows when compared with Cowon range of MP3 players but this won’t be much of an issue unless you are a bass freak. The highs extended well and mids were clear and quite crisp. Overall sound is quite well balanced but falls behind player like the Cowon iAudio E2 in terms of dynamism and details reproduction.
The four Equalizer presets and one user customizable setting give you flexibility to tweak the sound. Its recorder worked well at close range, and the FM radio gave good reception.
The built-in battery gets charged while connected to a PC and it lasted us between six and seven hours against the claimed nine hours. For Rs. 2,590, the MuvoT200 offers thumb drive functionality with a well-balanced portable audio player, helping it take the third spot in our comparison.
Bottom Line
The Creative MuvoT200 takes its cues for design from USB flash drives making it really portable. It scores high on controls and ergonomics.
