The HP Deskjet D5568 is an inkjet printer that comes with wireless capability. Apart from this feature, it doesn’t have anything much noteworthy to write about and is just a printer with standard features; but the price tag and cost of running is a bit on the higher side.

Feature wise, as mentioned above, it doesn’t have any extra features to talk about except for the options of printing out through a wireless network. The only other feature we found useful was the option to use black ink cartridge only.

Apart from the Wi-Fi integration, it doesn’t have anything much noteworthy to write about .

On the performance front, it was an average performer. The speed test threw up a not-too-impressive of 12 ppm (text, draft) – which is way lower than the print speed of 21 ppm that HP claims. Even though this is not a photo printer, we printed out a 4x6 photo print to check if it would be good enough for that occasional printout. The result was rather disappointing – it took 81 long seconds to take a photo print. And the photo quality was nothing much to talk about; reproduction of image details was not too good and the overall contrast and brightness seemed a little bit dull. As for text printing, the quality was just fine for regular text printing jobs.

The only reason you would opt for this printer might be because of the wireless feature. If you are not going to miss the wireless feature, this printer might not be a great choice for normal printing tasks at home and for a similar price you could get a dedicated photo printer with much more features and which also performs much better.

Bottom Line

For a printer with standard features (except for the wireless option) and average performance, this printer was priced a little too high and the cost of running are also on the high side of Rs 4 per page.
